The faculty of St. John the Evangelist School consists of twenty-three qualified full-time and part-time professional educators. Of this number, St. John the Evangelist School is fortunate to have four religious of the Congregation of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (IHM). Our religion teachers are certified or in the process of certification through the program set up by the Archdiocese of Washington. We have three administrative staff members who support our school as well as six aides.

A concerted effort has been made to ensure that St. John the Evangelist’s students receive the best possible instruction in reading and mathematics. To this end, qualified part-time reading and math teachers are employed in addition to the grade level teachers. Inclusion specialists, computer/technology teachers, and a librarian/media specialist are also on the staff to assist students and faculty in integrating technology into the regular curriculum.

A formal group of parent volunteers known as resource parents has been invaluable in organizing activities such as field trips, guest speakers, and educational activities. Members of the parish community also volunteer in the school on a regular basis. As a staff and community, we are committed to providing the best possible education for our students in a Catholic environment.
